The fifth verse from CadentWords’ Advent Calendar opens up the second stanza of Snowflake Kisses.
When I first started writing poetry, I wasn’t aware of the specific terms used to describe poems. I simply wrote lines of thoughts and then I’d space them out or group them as they sounded to me.
Please understand that I’m not a graduate of any official or accredited school of poetry other than the self-taught and self-inspired one! But after creating over a thousand poems, I thought it was time to look into it a little bit further. That’s when I discovered that what I called a “block” was actually a “stanza”. I also referred to “verses” as “lines”, but in sharing this on-line, I thought it better to apply more specific terms to the words I’m sharing with you.
From today’s verse in CadentWords’ Christmas Countdown, I can’t help but be drawn to the word “Christmas”.
Growing up where Christmas’ were always snowy and white is only one of the many reasons why I wrote Snowflake Kisses. A fun and exciting time shared with family and friends, Christmas Eve was as big a celebration as the day itself!
With only 20 more sleeps until Christmas Day and 19 verses left, Snowflake Kisses will lead you right into Christmas Eve, so please check-in again tomorrow for the 2nd verse of this 2nd stanza!
