Only 3 sleeps until Chirstmas and this darn pandemic is still not over with!
It’s no secret to anyone that I don’t have much to look forward to this Christmas other than counting it down. Keeping myself busy throughout December by writing something or anything everyday while counting down verses to a poem and picking a word to write about has been one way to stimulate my mind. I did this last year too, and it worked like a charm.
Trying to stay afloat through a pandemic enforcing restraints akin to repression and regression, its nice to be informed of a potential vaccine that might allow some individuals to return to what is considered “normal” during a time of year when closeness and celebration is of great importance to many individuals.
Focussing on positive memories and thoughts while applying myself to what I’ve described as a writing challenge might seem like ignorance or considered unrealistic to some, but it works well as a coping mechanism for many. Intentionally designed to dedicate the bulk of my day focussing on pleasant, good, and happy things often leads to, not only a sense of productivity and accomplishment, but I often find myself remembering what glimmers of hope look and feel like.
Whatever glimmers of hope I might be left with, they’re for everyone to pull through this pandemic.
