Dec 19 : slowly

December 19 : Verse 19

The 19th Verse of Snowflake Kisses is tempting me to take a nap.

Starting my day relatively early, from 5am to 8am, I focussed on another self-assigned task with a deadline that is slowly approaching. After a quick exercise routine, breakfast, and a shower, I’m now tackling today’s Verse 19.

With the weather outside, not so frightful, but certainly grey and dismal, my eyes want to do nothing more than to slowly close. And so I’ll pause and indulge in what my sensory system is hinting at while I ponder which word I should choose for today’s writing assignment.

Tilting my head back with eyes closed while adjusting my posture is a regular break-time breather. But today, I paused a little while longer while my mind slowly drifted away from this grey hazy day and into today’s chosen word:

Slowly, I pulled back my shoulders and pushed them down gently. This naturally opened-up my chest allowing more air for me to breathe in. Eyes still closed and head fully tilted with my face aligned horizontally to the ceiling, the pull along the front of my neck reminded me to tighten my abdominal core. This slowly and gently adjusted the small curve in my lower back to straighten, leading me upwards (as though growing an inch) closer to the ceiling.

One of the most fulfilling and calming stretches, when performed outside where the ceiling is endless and with more air to breathe, I often want to remain in this position for the entire day.

Seeming to lead into a health and fitness segment, instead I will slowly sway into another direction, towards a handsome shade of grey.

A moment in time when I was slowly and delicately swept off my feet, approached in a manner so subtle and sweet, the impatience I felt was most likely caused by the jittery spin my head was sent into, also known as swooned.

Even though he sat more than twenty feet from me, without even looking his way, the sensation of his eyes slowly scanning my entire body felt like a warm brush rising from the tip of my toes up to the very centre of my core.

Without even knowing, I was already attracted to this gentleman’s observant quality. Perhaps not as assured as he, but more likely simply flustered, I glimpsed his way occasionally but intently. Quickly assessing his shoulder width, torso, hip, and leg ratio, I reached the decision that I would allow myself to be entirely taken by him.

And then he stood from the table, and slowly headed my way.

My heart must have stopped, no more air I was breathing, faster and faster my head was spinning. The sinuous motion of his postured and confident gait, as though walking through water or gliding through air, I must have been entranced or hypnotized by the time he reached my side.

Likely appearing to be taken aback, I was merely tickled by his mellifluous voice. His words caressing my cochlea, sent me slowly swirling into a pleasant loop. Possibly seeming coquettish, my head tilted slightly and I smiled. I don’t recall the question he asked, but these are the words I released, “Yes, of course, please do.”

I need to take a moment and tilt my head back to allow air back into my brain.

Today’s creative writing challenge certainly has been a pleasant one and has led me to add a new item to my Christmas wish list: Santa Baby, may I please ask for a hot and handsome super sexy godlike heavenly masculine persona, also known as a man, to slowly calmly assertively and respectfully make his way towards me?

I realize this seems like a big item to be added to my Christmas wish list, but it fits perfectly with all the other unrealistic and unattainable requests on it!

As much as I’d like to continue with this creative thought and turn it into a delightful fantasy-like story, I do have to get back to the other assignment I’ve tasked myself with – December’s features & highlights.

Are thoughts slowly and comfortably swaying through your imagination while contemplating today’s word – slowly?

Enter a phrase, a paragraph, or a poem in the Snowflake Kisses Writing Challenge – intended for a general audience, adult playtime thoughts are not disallowed, but should be respectfully monitored to ensure no one is taken aback while dreaming of snowflake kisses:
