Falling

by Cadence Beret

It’s time for me
To leave the tree
I’ve clung to comfortably

And as I fall

I swirl and twirl
And slide and glide
To land on dewy greens

Then suddenly

I’m pushed and swooshed
Into the air
To float and turn again

Until I fall

Amongst a bunch
Of maple leaves
Just like me
