Furry Toes

by Cadence Beret

Once upon a time
My toes you could find
Sticking out from under the couch
Under which I liked to hide

But now I’m all grown up
Into a great big pup
And my toys I like to hide
Under the couch where I once lied

And every now and then
My grandma comes around
And cleans up all the house
She sweeps the floor
Dusts here and there
And vacuums up the couch
From all the dust I carry around
From fun-times in the playground

And even though she firmly says
“Hey pup hop off the couch.”
This I don’t mind so much
Cuz all my toys
Stuck under the couch
She gladly pulls out
And then she plays with me
Which I love so much!
