Call me silly or think me dreamy – whether it be in French or English – I like to play with words while letting my imagination roam freely!
The opening of today’s poem, temporarily re-titled Cadencé, was written several summers ago and led to the inspiration for the drawing and several other dance themed poems.
When writing poetry, I usually focus on a specific theme or a specific word from which I write an initial draft and then I develop a poem. Occasionally, I take that initial draft and spin-off into different themes to create several versions from the initial draft. This is how this week’s poem came to be – while pirouette-ing through thoughts and chassé-ing with words.
Don’t miss the next pages as I continue with more ballet terms and the translation of the original French version of Cadencé to its new English version – Cadenced.
