Moonsetting Morning

by Cadence Beret

The rising sun
Could not be seen
On this hazy cloudy morning
When a massive cadent teardrop
Escaped the cloud cover

The moon dropped out
Of a cloud blanket
To make a clear appearance
Before setting itself to sleep

This bright white light
Let a tip poke through
Then a half a moon aglow
And for the briefest moment
The full moon could be seen

A dense and grey horizon
Lit up by this bright light
Shining glowing softly
For all to see

Even though the rising sun
Could not be seen
