Pinderella’s Etymology

by Cadence Beret

Defiant and determined
Her family she loves so
But she simply could not say I do
To her long time foe

The losses of the riches
This brought to her family
Is why she packed up and left
In search for employment

The note she left behind
Written for her dear papa
Was found by another
So her words he never saw

Dear Pa Pindar,
I don’t mean to disappoint
But I simply cannot wed a man
Who’ll pay only for my hand
Yet not care for my heart and thoughts
And everything I am

I will return with money earned
From what you taught me well
To eloquently write about
Vicissitudal life
With all my love,
Your princess Pinderella
