Symmetrical Motion

by Cadence Beret

My body moves
In symmetrical angles
To wavelike undulations

The sinuous motion
Of my extremities
Move like engineered
Free-flowing feathered wings

My core as solid
As metal in concrete
Yet as wispy and delicate
As the air it breathes

Like the air to the left
And water to the right
A dancer moves in me
With grace and dignity
